Digital Indicator
In every electronic scale or balance, the primary function of the indicator is—simply put—to receive weight information from the load cells, convert it into digits, and display the weight.
Since there are two types of load cells—digital and analog—the data received by the indicator is transmitted in two different formats.
In systems with analog load cells, the information is received as an analog signal. The indicator first converts this signal from analog to digital using a section called Analog to Digital (A/D) and then displays it numerically.
Factors that differentiate indicators include:
-
The quality of the A/D section and the method of weight display, which is a crucial factor in selecting the right indicator.
-
The capabilities of each indicator, which vary across different models.
